I’ve learned a lot about blogging over the past year and one of the greatest benefits of blogging is being part of a great community. That’s why for a significant portion of April I’ve decided to feature the blogs of some of my followers so you can get to know them and expand the circle of your blogger friends. These are great peeps whose blogs I pay extra attention to, and I hope once you get to know them you’ll find you want to do the same.
QUESTIONS
I’ve posed to each author of the blog some questions, such as who their favorite authors are and any advice they have on writing. Some of them are published, some of them are working to become such, but they’ve all got great experiences to share. I also throw in a few things like what superpower they’d want and where’s the farthest away from home they’ve traveled.
COMMUNITY
I’ve encouraged these fab bloggers to be available when their posts go up so you can ask more questions and get to know them better. And with this crowd, you’ll definitely want to know more about them.
But since this is all about community, I think it would be fabulous if you featured a few blogs yourself so we can also expand our circles of blogger friends. If you want, you can pingback to this post or any of the posts featuring bloggers, then we’ll know to come looking.
Maybe it’s just me, but sometimes I find it difficult to navigate WordPress in search of like-minded individuals—even when I do use tags. That’s why I like the idea of featuring bloggers, so everyone doesn’t have to work so hard to find friends. If we all share, we all gain.
THE PLAN
My intention was to feature a new blogger Tuesdays-Thursdays of April (if everyone I’ve asked responds). But you don’t have to do so many. It could be one a week or just a couple. But here on Lit and Scribbles, expect Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays of April to be a chance for you to make new friends.
Oh, and people whom I’ve sent emails to who haven’t responded… You may get some gentle prodding from me today. 😉

I’m excited to “meet” everyone, and I’ll definitely get a post or two up in April for this. I have the same problem with the WordPress search. It let me find you, I think (yay!), but usually the tags aren’t super helpful.
I know, I scour the tags for writers like you for loads of time and usually only come up with a couple potential blogs. Blah. I wish there was a better way of categorizing. Or that WP would let you search the “about me” pages or something.
There’s a thought! That would help.
This does sound exciting and great way to make new WordPress friends. I do have to admit that I don’t know how to pingback. I’ve been reblogging more and more as I get comfortable with it, but I can’t figure out the pingback.
You just link to a specific post instead of only the blog address, then it pings back. Easy breezy.

I must say that, when I first started blogging, I had no idea how large of a community exists. It really is great to have that support from like-minded (or very different-minded) people. And the ultimate comes when blogs focus on other blogs, thus inviting new readers to become followers for both blogs.

Yes, all writers welcome, published or not. What I love about your blog is your honesty in the writing process and sharing what you learn along the way. I’m wide open on all Wednesdays in August so chose the closest one to your birthday. Let me know if you want to do the interview or do a post of your choosing.
How about the 14th? That’s the closest. As for which, I don’t know. I’m open to either. I’ll have been to two conferences by then, so I’ll probably have some new knowledge. Whichever you think, though I’ve never done a guest post before. Hmmm… Any topics for suggestion or I suppose we could wait a little bit. Although so far off, you might have to remind me. I want the post to be a little fresh. 😉
And another thing – you’re not aspiring to anything. You’re the real thing!

I have you down for Augus14. I haven’t had any post, guest or otherwise, on writers conferences. You could do one on the benefit of attending them. I stop going a few years back, but I love reading other folks experiences. I think my readers would, too.
So looking forward to this as I can meet new bloggers! 🙂
